America's premier underwriters Allegheny Casualty Company, American Surety Company, Associated Bond and Insurance Agency, International Fidelity Insurance Company and Underwriters Surety, Inc. (the "Founders") of criminal court appearance bonds have formed a new national organization, primarily to perform a two-pronged task to educate local government on the benefits of commercial bail bonding and to advance the interests of the Founders’ many retail agents.

To achieve its purpose, The American Bail Coalition has set several goals:

1. The broad dissemination to the nation’s judiciary and local government leaders of the many problems related to public-funded bail programs.
2. The legislative actions, state and national, necessary to expand the use of the commercial bonding system, and form a more effective public/private sector partnership for a safer and more responsible method of releasing defendants prior to trial.
3. The development of specific programs through working closely with the Founders’ thousands of agents, to expand and protect the interests of those particular businessmen and women.

The American Bail Coalition is created, according to the Founders, because the times call for a more dedicated and closely focused commitment to these goals. Public safety itself will be the major beneficiary.

To these ends a national headquarters has been established in Washington, D.C. with East, Central and Western Regional offices.
